Very Early Scandy on Blue - Aller Vale
…a wonderful early pot with an early exploratory scandy and fronded dot design… clsoest to S1 in the pattern codes. Measures 4.75x3. Made in Devon England at the Torquay Potteries. Antique pottery sold as found, images show condition of piece. Suspected restoration to rim, not sure, I cannot tell if it is the clay or stippling during the firing as some of these early glazed pieces have roughness in their humble charms. ALler Vale of course and mark inducates 1887-1897... I hope I look this cute at 130 years old!
